For a lot of us, colder months mean bundling up into thick layers of jeans, leggings, sweaters, coats, scarves, etc. But at the same time, we forget about the dresses, because a lot of them aren’t really warm. With Christmas parties coming up, I see a lot of posts and articles that suggest fabulous dresses to wear for the occasion, but most of them are just glammed up summer dresses. Not very winter appropriate, especially if you live in colder places.
So I decided to find some warm dresses for you that are winter or any other season appropriate, if the weather allows.
All of the dresses are simple, versatile in the sense that they can be dressed up or down. Personally, I prefer to make the outfit pop with accessories or shoes, so these dresses are subtle enough to allow accessories or shoes (or both) to stand out and create a cool look together. Another thing that is a plus, and make the dresses different from the rest, are long sleeves. Which consequently keep you warmer and at the same time allow the dress to shine by itself – you don’t need to wear a blazer or a cardigan over it to stay warm. Also, you can easily wear them with thick tights for extra warmth. Add booties and you’re winter ready without compromising your outfit.
My favourite from the selection is the black one on the left, because it’s really simple and the fabric’s texture looks really interesting. Absolutely different from anything in my wardrobe.
Which one do you like the most? And do you like the short sleeved dresses that are often suggested for Holiday party looks or do you think they aren’t a realistic option? Share your thoughts below! :)
